Gunnery Sergeant Adam Escalante 

Gunnery Sergeant Adam D. Escalante was born in Victoria, TX. He enlisted in the Marine Corps on September 2012 into the delayed entry program and began recruit training at Maine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, CA, 2nd Training Battalion, Fox Company on January of 2013.

In May 2013, Private First Class Escalante completed MCT School at Camp Pendleton, CA. In May 2013 he was ordered to Marine Base Camp Johnson, NC where he received the MOS training for Basic Administrative Specialist and received the MOS of 0111.

In August 2013, he was ordered to 7th Engineer Support Battalion as an Admin Clerk. In October 2013 he was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal. He was 7th Engineer Support Battalion, and 1st Marine Logistics Group Marine of the Quarter for the 3rd Quarter.

In September 2014 he was promoted to the rank of Corporal.

In January 2016 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. He then attached to 1st Transportation Support Battalion.

In April 2016, he attached to 1st Battalion, 1st Marines and deployed to Darwin, Australia in support of Marine Rotational Force Darwin where he served as the NCOIC for the S-1.

In December 2016, Sergeant Escalante was ordered to Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 167, New River, NC where he served as the Assistant Administrative Chief. In July 2017, he attached to Integrated Training Exercise where he served as the Aviation Combat Element Administrative Chief. Sergeant Escalante returned to New River, NC where he continued as the Assistant Administrative Chief and Administrative Chief for Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 167.

In February 2018 Sergeant Escalante received orders to Drill Instructor School Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island and reported to Drill Instructor School 2-19 on January 2019 where he began training to become a Drill Instructor. In March 2019 Sergeant Escalante graduated Drill Instructor school and was assigned to 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, Golf Company. 

In April 2019 he was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant. 

In April 2019 Staff Sergeant Escalante was ordered to 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, Golf Company where he would serve as Drill Instructor and Senior Drill Instructor until April 2022.

In May 2022 Staff Sergeant Escalante was ordered to Marine Aviation Training Support Group 22, Corpus Christ Texas to serve as Administrative Chief.

In March 2023, he graduated Advanced Administration School and in June 2023 he was selected to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant and was promoted to his current rank of Gunnery Sergeant on October 2023.

In April 2025, Gunnery Sergeant Escalante reported to his current command, the University of Utah NROTC as the Assistant Marine Officer Instructor.

Gunnery Sergeant Escalante's personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (Gold Star in lieu of Third Award).
