lt andrew masters picA native of Southaven, MS, Lieutenant Andrew H. Masters enlisted and attended Navy Recruit Training in January of 2008 before attending Intelligence Specialist “A” School and Strike Warfare Analyst “C” school in Virginia Beach, VA. After completing his enlisted contract in 2013, Lieutenant Masters then attended Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA full time until receiving his Bachelor of Science in Political Science in 2015.  He then commissioned via the Navy’s Officer Candidate School in Newport, RI in May 2019.

Afloat, Lieutenant Masters’ enlisted assignment was to the USS GEORGE H W BUCH (CVN 77) where he served as a strike analyst, air warfare analyst, and geo-political analyst during the ship’s 2011 maiden deployment supporting Operations Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, and New Dawn. In November 2019, he reported onboard USS MONTEREY (CG 61) first as the Combat Information Center Division Officer and later filling roles as the Assistant Training Officer and Administrative Officer. The 2021 deployment of MONTEREY saw operations in the Mediterranean and Black Sea; as well as, the largest recorded weapons seizure in Fifth Fleet history in the North Arabian Sea. In September 2022, Lieutenant Masters reported to USS COOPERSTOWN (LCS 23) as the Assistant Chief Engineer for the ship’s sail around from the construction yard in Marinette, WI. During his tour, COOPERSTOWN was accepted to the fleet, commissioned in New York City, NY, fully certified for fleet operations, participated in several weeks-long national joint-service training operations, and conducted an awarded rescue at sea.

Ashore, Lieutenant Masters reported July 2024 as an Assistant Professor of Naval Science and Freshman/Sophomore Advisor at the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps Unit, University of Utah while pursuing personal educational goals.

Lieutenant Masters’ personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medal (with 2 Gold Stars), and the Navy and Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal as well as several unit and service awards.
